Areas of Interest
"I have a general practice, which means I am treating a broad range of different conditions, mainly chronic diseases. There are a few areas though that I have done additional training and research in and have a wealth of clinical expertise in."
Integrative Cancer Care (Integrative Oncology)
Integrative cancer care includes women’s health check-ups, gynecological examinations, and breast health, for cancer prevention and education. She also offers supportive care for patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatments for cancer, and palliative care.
Women’s Health
Could it be your hormones? Do you have premenstrual symptoms (PMS), PCOS, endometriosis, hot flashes or other pre-menopausal symptoms, fertility concerns or acne? Do you have recurrent or persistent vaginal concerns that haven’t been resolved by conventional approaches? Common conditions treated include chronic yeast infections, recurrent bacterial vaginosis, dyspareunia (painful intercourse), vaginal dryness and HPV. There are many factors that influence the delicate balance of our hormones. Are you interested in addressing your concerns via thorough assessment, further testing and targeted natural solutions? Take a natural approach including diet, stress management, supplements and botanicals and bio-identical hormones, if other measures don’t provide enough support, that yield sustained results.
Gastrointestinal Health
Have you been told you have IBS (Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome), leaky gut, or SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth)? Do you feel bloated? Or constipated? Are you bothered by skin lesions and itchiness? Any food sensitivities? Are you anxious or have low mood? Have you heard about Brain-Gut Axis? Find relief with natural approaches that address the root cause of your digestive concerns. Let’s get you on a plan that supports digestion, creates an optimal gut microbiome and heals the tissues of the gastrointestinal tract. Feel better with a happy and healthy gut.
Thyroid Health
Feel cold or warm? Feel tired during the day? Lose your hair or have a dry skin? Sweating a lot? Gain or lose weight? Feel irritable? Your thyroid gland might be out of function. Naturopathic treatments for thyroid related health issues may be effective at minimizing symptoms of thyroid dysfunction and regulating thyroid gland, along with balancing other hormones. The naturopathic approach to thyroid problems involves first identifying the root cause of the thyroid problem, stress or an imbalance in the endocrine system, using various medical tests. Once the root cause is established, the treatment consists of natural therapies such as dietary modifications, herbal supplements, vitamins, and acupuncture in order to treat the underlying cause of the problem and rebalance the endocrine system hereby improving thyroid function and optimizing your overall wellbeing.
Cardiovascular Health
Many patients seeking naturopathic care to manage their cardiovascular health concerns express their frustration with the amount of medication that is used to control the condition and the lack of education around healthy dietary and preventative approaches to improve outcomes. My approach to treating cardiovascular disease focuses on significant dietary and lifestyle changes besides evidence-based naturopathic medical treatments such as herbal medicine, to reduce your need for multiple medications, and to reduce risk for cardiovascular events.
There is a list of heart diseases we work on include:
-
Hypertension, Coronary Artery Disease, Atherosclerosis, High Cholesterol, Congestive Heart Failure and Varicose Veins, as well as metabolic syndrome which is a combination of obesity, diabetes and different cardiovascular risk factors.
I also work with people who are interested in prevention, for those who know of a strong family history for heart disease and would like to start early to mitigate these risk factors.
